Infertilitydoctors

Infertility doctors professionally called reproductive endocrinologists specialize in treating the symptoms of infertility and hormonal functions related to reproduction. Infertility doctors are trained in obstetrics and gynecology then undergo a rigorous fellowship (sub specialty training) in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Although infertility doctors mainly concentrate on the reproductive aspects, they also treat hormonal dysfunctions outside of fertility. Infertility can occur in both the male and the female. It might even be that each partner may be independently infertile but cannot conceive together without the assistance of infertility doctors.

By accustomed manner a woman is naturally fertile during her period of ovulation and infertile during the other days of her menstrual cycle. Infertility doctors diagnose infertility through the guidelines of the World Health Organization. If a couple, of which the female is below 34, has not conceived after 12 months of contraceptive free sex. Or if the female is above the age of 35 and the couple has not conceived after 6 months, then in these cases the couple is diagnosed as infertile. Primarily infertility is determined as a couple who has never had the ability to conceive. While secondary infertility is when a couple has conceived previously but is having difficulty conceiving after.

Infertility doctors have also divided the factors that cause infertility into the four categories of genetic, general, hypothalamic- pituitary and environmental. A genetic factor might be chromosomal abnormalities. A general factor might be thyroid gland disorder. Hypopituitarism is the lowering of secretion of pituitary hormones. And last of all are environmental factors such as smoking. Infertility doctors has informed the public that individuals who smoke tobacco are sixty percent more likely to be infertile than non smokers. These are all examples of illnesses related to infertility but however there are more reasons within these categories and any couple should consult with an infertility doctor if they face trouble conceiving.

There are treatments to the problems of infertility. Infertility doctors may prescribe such methods to aid in a couple conceiving a child. They can range from conception kits at home to more invasive medical treatments. Over the recent years there has been a rise in fertility tourism as there are infertility doctors in certain other countries that operate for a lower cost or promote alternative types of treatment such as acupuncture. The main reason however may be regulations that constrict the treatment in the home country of the patient. In some more conservative societies the results of infertility carry a social stigma with it and individuals are hesitant to go to infertility doctor upon whom they fear bad news will be delivered to them. A couple should always maintain a healthy sexual lifestyle even if they have been diagnosed with infertility because there is always a chance that they could deliver a child. Infertility doctors are there to help and one should not be reluctant to resist help from these professionals.
